From one Pacific Coast to anotherBig sister first and world traveler second, I'm an LA native who traversed the world, from Hong Kong to SF to Sydney, all on my way back to LA.
Age 7: Initial exposure and the travel itch was born when Mom took me to Germany for a family wedding. A pitstop in France and my introduction to chocolate croissants? This is where it all began. Age 16: My British soccer coach took us across the pond to dribble through London and Manchester. I marched by Buckingham, saw the home of Shakespeare and parasailed in Nice. I was toast. Age 19: Traveled 6,000 miles to visit my collegiate soul-sister and fated friend Jillizabeth during her study abroad semester at UNSW. Another idea was incepted and, while stranded down under, it never left. Age 28: Abroad Down Under was born. Age 31: Returned home to LA after three years as an expat. Been soul-searching ever since. |
