Taking the Leap, as Cory Coverley

At the start of the year 2026, I decided to hard-launch my new last name (6 months after marrying Mike). I took the moment as an opportunity to rebrand, both internally and to the world. You see, I was changing jobs and companies -- for the first time in 11+ years -- and I was ready for a fresh start in more ways than one.

I prepared to embark on a new chapter... not only of my career, but of my professional identity and adulthood. Somehow, I decided that the best way to prepare would be to warm up these novelty-muscles: in as many ways as I could. Enter: new name, job, car, and yoga studio. All in the month of February! 

Then, I both signed up for women's self love retreat and booked a ten-day trip in camper van with my husband. An abundance of new experiences would follow.

Enter: the new me. A lot of people -- myself included -- like to embrace the chance for a "new year, new me." I wondered if I was taking on too much, or facing change fatigue. 

As it turns out... New year, more* me was more like it. I was slowly becoming -- while also unbecoming. I'm unraveling, and this requires re-stitching. I thought, perhaps, that I'd be further along by now. Maybe life isn't about getting far or getting along at all; maybe, life is simply about becoming. 

Stay tuned for what's to come. So far, I've uncovered that there is MORE to life and countless more amazing people to the city of LA let alone the world -- right outside our windows. We are capable of so much. And, to be curious is to be vulnerable. To be vulnerable is to dare greatly.
